European football governing body, UEFA has suspended Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho for a provisional period of 30 days following a positive drugs test.
A sample submitted by the France international following the club’s Europa League fixture with Manchester United on March 17 came back showing traces of a banned substance, believed to be a fat burner, Goal reports.
Sakho had the option to appeal the finding and have a B sample tested, but it was revealed on Wednesday that he had declined to take this option.
UEFA noted that the date of the disciplinary hearing will be announced at a later stage.
