The Portuguese is widely expected to replace Louis van Gaal at the end of the season.
Lewandowski, who has become one of the most feared marksmen in Europe, has been linked with a move to the Premier League in the past.
And according to the Manchester Evening News, the Pole could be high on Mourinho’s wishlist.
The report suggests Mourinho sent Lewandowski a text three years ago saying: “I want you to join me in any club I go to.”
United and Arsenal have been informed of Real Madrid’s intention to re-sign Alvaro Morata, according to reports.
Real inserted a buy-back clause into his contract and are set to activate it.
Italian publication Calciomercato claim Real have contacted Juve to let them know of their desire to buy Morata.
United have been keeping tabs on the striker, as they seek to add a different dimension to their attack.
Hugo Lloris will remain at Tottenham, according to reports.
The 29-year-old Frenchman was on United’s radar last summer as they sought a replacement for David de Gea.
