Governor Fayose accuses EFCC of conspiracy ‘that would fail like 2006’

Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, who is currently under the scrutinising lenses of the the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has affirmed that he had N300 million in one of his Zenith bank accounts with number 9013074033.

In a series of posts on his Facebook page, Fayose’s Special Adviser on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, with the hash tag ‘Fayose speaks’ revealed that the N300 million contrary to the claims of the EFCC was deposited into the account before Fayose became the governor of the state.


The EFCC had claimed that the money was deposited into the account barely 6 months after Fayose was sworn in as the governor of the state.

Debunking the agency’s caims, Fayose said the money was declared in his assets declaration form.

Olayinka wrote, “I declared in my assets declaration form that I had N300m in my fixed deposit account in Zenith Bank #Fayose Speaks.”

He reiterated that campaign funds were never received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014.

He added, “I did not get money from the NSA Office to fund my election. It is just a conspiracy; it will fail like that of 2006.

“By the end of this month, we are starting a social welfare scheme in which 7,000 people will be getting N5, 000 per month #FayoseSpeaks

“We deceive ourselves too much in this country. Even our population that they said is 150 million is not true.”

According to reports, the EFCC has concluded plans to seize 4 of Fayose’s properties worth N1.2 billion.
