How to Fix Your Sleep Hygiene To Sleep Better

This is one week  of the Fall Asleep Faster program. Give the skill outlined below a try for one week. Consider it a one-week experiment. Commit to following these simple steps every day of the week.
Introduction
What You’ll Do: If you read, watch TV or even think in bed, you are telling your body that something other than sleep needs to be done. This is confusing. To retrain your body, send only one message each night: “It’s time to sleep.”
 How It Works
Systems are built into your body to anticipate certain situations. For instance, if you see food, your body responds by getting “ready” to eat: You salivate, your pancreas releases insulin to aid digestion and you feel hungry. The same is true with sleep. Your body will respond to cues and begin to make the changes necessary for you to fall asleep. The most powerful cue you can give your body is lying down. When you read, watch TV or process your day in bed, you are reprogramming your

ASUU fails to end strike despite truce with FG

Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have resolved to set up seven-man committee to work out modalities for the actualization of its 2009 agreement.
Sen. Chris Ngige, Minister of Labour and Employment stated this at an intensive conciliatory meeting with the leadership of ASUU, Minister of Education, among others on Friday in Abuja. The meeting was an effort at revolving the lingering strike embarked by the union. Despite the truce, the university lecturers however failed to call off the strike.
It will be recalled that members of ASUU had embarked on indefinite strike on August 13, following government’s failure to implement the agreement reached with the union in November 2016.
ASUU, on Aug. 17, had met with the officials of the Ministry of Education and Labour and Employment where it was agreed that the union should consult and report back to the government within a week.

Members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) are currently on indefinite strike nationwide over non-implementation of the demands, including the 2009 signed agreement between it and the FG.
A major aspect of the issues in contention is the non payment of N880 billion Earned Academic Allowance (EAA).

Vice-Chancellors, ASUU, reject FG's 120 cut-off mark for varsity admission

Vice-Chancellors and the Academic Staff Union of Universities have rejected the decision of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board to peg admission cut-off mark at 120 for universities and 100 for polytechnics, monotechnics and colleges of education.

ASUU said the action, which it described as a “sad policy decision,” was in tandem “with the dream of the present government to destroy public universities in the country.”

Most of the vice-chancellors our correspondents interviewed on the issue maintained that they would not lower admission standards in their respective varsities.

The vice-chancellors stated that the decision would add no value to the nation’s university system.

For instance, in a statement issued by the Vice-Chancellor, University of Ibadan, Prof. Idowu Olayinka, on the issue and released by his Media Assistant, Mr. Sunday Saanu, on Thursday, the premier university stated that it would never admit any candidate that scored 120 in the UTME.

May Day 2017: Workers Get 60% Pay Rise With Immediate Effect

As the world celebrates 1st May which “Worker’s Day”, a President has increased his country’s minimum wage, effective from Monday.

Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has ordered a 60% increase in the country’s minimum wage, effective from Monday.
Including food subsidies, the worst-paid workers will now take home about 200,000 bolivars a month – less than $50 (£38) at the black market rate.
According to BBC, the pay rise is the third this year from Mr Maduro, and aims to benefit government workers and the military.
It comes a month after deadly protests erupted in the country.
Demonstrators first took to the streets on 1 April to demand elections, after the courts tried to strengthen the president’s grip on power.
Marches in various cities descended into clashes between riot police and protesters, which have left 28 people dead.

Photos:- Nigerian Singer “Sinzu” In Prison In US Over Theft Charges

Overwhelming evidence suggest that Nigerian talented rapper, Saucekid, real name is Babalola Falemi, (he later changed his stage name to Sinzu) who became popular after he released ‘Yebariba’, a cover of the Remy Ma hit ‘Conceited’ has been missing in action for a while.
He has allegedly been in jail in the United States since 2016 at Ada County Jail, a medium security prison attached to the Idaho Sheriff Department.
The reason for his recent imprisonment isn’t known but it could be related to the incident that occurred in 2014 where he was declared wanted after a CCTV footage showed someone who looked like him withdrawing $300 from a stolen credit card.
When that incident occurred, Saucekid went on social media to deny any involvement with the burglary/fraud, instead blaming it on his former friend, Godwin.
See evidence below…

Why I oppose Buhari –Fayose

Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose last Tuesday caused attention to be on him when he went to the Federal High Court, Abuja to identify with the detained leader of Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu. In this chat, he explained the rationale for identifying with Kanu, his many controversies and what APC government was not getting right.
You were with the detained IPOB leader in court, what message were you trying to pass?
Well just for us as leaders to identify with the oppressed in our society, people at our level should rise up to make sure that the ordinary citizens of this country are not oppressed by the authorities that are supposed to be protecting them.
What Americans does most often is to keep pressure on government that does the wrong thing; we will continue to keep pressure on this administration not to prevent them from becoming dictators. Sinc
e we cannot carry gun, we must be able to identify with such people and let the whole world know that this is an oppressive move against the ordinary man.

'Why we didn't give Senator Isiaka Adeleke a befitting state burial' - Osun State Government

Read the state government's press statement below...
We are still in shock and great pain over the transition of our friend, associate and brother, Senator Isiaka Adetunji Adeleke. He was a prominent son of our state and its first democratically elected Governor.  Until his death, he was the senator representing Osun West in the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

He was an astute and colourful politician and a generous personality. He was gregarious, enthusiastic and full of life and zest. His death is therefore shocking and totally unexpected.

The State Government of Osun had intended to give him a befitting state burial which he rightly deserved and which the state had prepared to undertake. Regrettably, however, the enemies of the state, through brigandage, violence and evil machinations, created an atmosphere of fear and terror in the minds of our citizenry and friends throughout the federation.
