How to Fix Your Sleep Hygiene To Sleep Better

This is one week  of the Fall Asleep Faster program. Give the skill outlined below a try for one week. Consider it a one-week experiment. Commit to following these simple steps every day of the week.
Introduction
What You’ll Do: If you read, watch TV or even think in bed, you are telling your body that something other than sleep needs to be done. This is confusing. To retrain your body, send only one message each night: “It’s time to sleep.”
 How It Works
Systems are built into your body to anticipate certain situations. For instance, if you see food, your body responds by getting “ready” to eat: You salivate, your pancreas releases insulin to aid digestion and you feel hungry. The same is true with sleep. Your body will respond to cues and begin to make the changes necessary for you to fall asleep. The most powerful cue you can give your body is lying down. When you read, watch TV or process your day in bed, you are reprogramming your

Home Remedies for Whitlow

whitlow remedies
Whitlow is scientifically called ‘Paronychia’. This condition is found on the fingers near the nails and is extremely painful and contagious. The tingling sensation caused due to whitlow in the fingers is is extremely bad than pain caused due to severe headache. This condition is caused in the finger tips due to ‘herpes simplex virus’. Thus, it is also called ‘Herpetic whitlow’.
Both the types of herpes simplex virus – Type 1 and Type 2 can cause herpetic whitlow. It occurs when the skin is broken on fingertips and it comes directly into contact with the body fluids infected herpes virus.
Some symptoms of whitlow include intense pain, itching, swelling or redness on the fingertips. Small blisters can also be seen. Some general symptoms accompanied with whitlow include swollen lymph nodes, fever, red streaking on arms. If these symptoms are seen, it indicates a significant infection.
Though, the problem of whitlow resolves within two to three weeks without treatment. If you need help from medical practitioner, then he might prescribe you some medications which can reduce pain and swelling, but if you experience repeated episodes of whitlow, then he might give you a course of antiviral medication to prevent severe symptoms of its future occurrences.

First Aid Tips: Medical Procedures You Can Do At Home

When a ring is stuck on your finger: This is one of my most popular tips—and it doesn’t require cutting the ring. Instead, cut off a long piece of dental floss. Turn the ringed hand palm up. Thread one end of the floss through the ring, going down toward your palm. Hold that end of the floss in place with the thumb of your ringed hand. Take the other end of the string and wrap the floss tightly around and around your finger, starting at the ring and moving up toward the fingertip. The goal is to squeeze some of the swelling toward the tip, making your finger skinny enough to get the ring off. This trick doesn’t always work, but when it does, it saves both your ring and your finger. You can avoid having to use it by remembering to immediately take any rings off an injured finger or hand—before it swells.

10-Minute Mindfulness Meditation To Reduce Stress

Shutterstock
It's easy to feel stressed. Demands on our time, a long to-do list and people asking for phone calls and meetings.
There is a way out. If you meditate for even ten minutes, you'll feel better.
That's because the body's stress response is prone to snap judgements. As the Brainwave Research Institute writes, "Much of what activates our primal “fight or flight” response is not something that will kill us - we just think it will." Our brains are wired, as they say, to over-react.
That can be helpful in the jungle but is less helpful in everyday life. When we're stressed, it's hard to make sound decisions. We react automatically to situations rather than acting mindfully. As author and monk Jeff Canon writes in the Huffington Post, fight or flight "can cause us to panic when we should remain calm."
