The Nigerian Football Federation has appointed Gernot Rohr as the new Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles.
According to the Twitter handle of the NFF @thenff, the German tactician who was recommended by the NFF's Technical and Development Committee signed a two year deal on Tuesday.
Rohr, a former Germany defender succeeds former coach, Sunday Oliseh, who quit the job in February.
The NFF handle informs: "Mr. Gernot Rohr signs two-year contract to work with the NFF as Technical Adviser of the Super Eagles." t
Rohr is expected to lead the Super Eagles in next month's African Nations Cup qualifier against Tanzania in Port Harcourt before the final round of World Cup qualifiers begins for the African countries.
The 63 year old played for Bordeaux in France as a defender and later, as coach, he took the team to the 1996 UEFA Cup final where they lost to Bayern Munich.
The German also coached Tunisian club Etoile du Sahel and Nantes before managing the national teams of Gabon, Niger and Burkina Faso. He was shortlisted for the job of head coach of Guinea only last month.
