How It Works:
Systems are built into your body to anticipate certain situations. For instance, if you see food, your body responds by getting “ready” to eat: You salivate, your pancreas releases insulin to aid digestion and you feel hungry. The same is true with sleep. Your body will respond to cues and begin to make the changes necessary for you to fall asleep. The most powerful cue you can give your body is lying down.
