Former Chelsea chief Frank Arnesen has warned Manchester United against appointing Jose Mourinho.
The Dane – who worked alongside Mourinho during his spell as Blues sporting director – is wary of the Portuguese’s methods and fears United would be jacking in their ideology if they give him the gig.
“Mourinho is very demanding and sometimes the players can’t take it,” Arnesen told the Daily Star.
“He made some drastic changes [at Chelsea] and it cost him.
“What would happen if they replaced Van Gaal with Mourinho? The philosophy of Manchester United will go out of the window.
“But maybe they are that keen to have success…”
