Thierry Henry to join Arsenal coaching staff for next season

The Gunners legend will reportedly become assistant manager of the club's under-18s side this summer.



Arsenal fans have endured another frustrating season as they have watched another title charge falter, but they may yet get some long-awaited good news this summer as Goal reports that Thierry Henry will join the club's coaching staff.

Henry has been constantly linked with a staff role at the Gunners since retiring from playing in December 2014, with supporters longing to see their hero back at the club in some capacity.

The French striker, who is the club's all-time record goalscorer with 228 strikes in 376 games for the club, has been working mainly as a pundit for Sky Sports in the year-and-a-half since hanging up his boots.


However, he has already dabbled in some coaching for Arsenal and according to a report from Goal, he is now expected to become former Gunners man Kwame Ampadu's right-hand man for the club's under-18s side after completing his UEFA A coaching licence.

That qualification enables Henry to coach a team below Premier League level or to be in charge of a youth academy, but it looks as though he will make his first foray into coaching with an assistant role.
