The verbose People Democratic Party chieftain and sworn-critic of President Muhammadu Buhari in the person of Governor Ayodele Fayose has seized another opportunity to warm the hearts of the Ekiti locals.
Governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose was seen fighting a fire incident that occurred on Sunday afternoon at Ijigbo, Ado Ekiti. Fayose joined residents and officials of the fire service to quench the inferno that occurred from a petrol tanker explosion at a filling station.
The pictures of the accident scene trended for very long hours on social and online media yesterday night as individuals applauded the heroic deed of the governor.
Others also encouraged Mr. Fayose to invest in state of the art emergency facilities like Lagos State to curb a future occurrence of the accident as well as the stress and danger of joining to quench the inferno.
Meanwhile, a statement released by his popular media aide, Lere Olayinka concerning the incident read:
"Ekiti State government has stopped Petrol Stations located within residential areas from further dispensing petrol. The petrol stations are to henceforth, sell diesel and kerosene only.
"The State governor, Mr Ayodele Fayose gave the directive as a result of the fire outbreak today, at the Strive Energy Petrol Station, Ijigbo roundabout in Ado Ekiti, the State capital.
"Mr Fayose, who rushed to the scene of the fire outbreak and promptly mobilized men of the State Fire Service to put out the fire described the incidence as unfortunate.
"He added that government would take far reaching decisions to avert future recurrence. The fire incidence, which spread from the petrol station to the nearby Mugbagba areas of the town before it was put out destroyed properties worth millions of naira but no life was lost."
