The 2016 Paralympics will kick off in Rio de Janeiro today with thousands of athletes from around the world taking part in the Games.

The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games will be held from 7 to 18 September with the opening ceremony at the Maracana stadium on Wednesday 7 September.

Governor Rauf Aregbesola of Osun State has attacked critics demanding his resignation for the state’s woeful performance in the last Senior Secondary WAEC examinations results.

The governor’s spokesperson, Semiu Okanlawon, said Wednesday that those calling for Mr. Aregbesola’s resignation were “naive and ignorant of statistics”.

Lagos State Police Sargent Arrested For Robbery

The Lagos State Police Command has detained a police sergeant, identified as Yusuf Bello, and an accomplice, Idowu Badmus, for allegedly snatching motorcycles and selling them in the Iyana Iba area of the state.

It was learnt that Bello, who is attached to the Itire Police Division, was arrested on Monday by the Igando Police Division after a victim, identified only as Aramide, reported that he was robbed of his motorcycle at Iyana School bus stop on the Lagos State University-Iyana Iba Road.
